Buddy Quiet is one of the companions in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. As with other buddies, she can be taken to missions, where she helps with her unique skill set. She also has a storyline of her own, which can be explored during the events of the game.

You meet Quiet during Episode 11 Cloaked In Silence, and there you have the option to fight or flee. Once you fight her and bring her to down to zero health, a cutscene will prompt you to make a choice. Shoot her, or bring her with you to Mother Base.
Note: If you shoot her, or flee the mission, you can always re-do the mission and bring her with you.

Tips:
Use the scout command on large outposts (outposts with names – not the “number” outposts) to receive supplies from Quiet. I noticed this after bond level 20. If you pick up her supplies, it may increase your bond (read this in a forum post).

Wait before moving into a large outpost to make sure she drops supplies. There have been times where I had her scout a large outpost and she did not drop supplies.

Make sure she can see you so she can cover you. Use the Quiet (Attack) command from the iDroid to place her in a position she can cover you. She cannot shoot enemies she doesn’t see.

If she is getting shot by enemies, move her using the Quiet (Attack) command from the iDroid. This will prevent you from losing bond (also read this in a forum post).

She is optimal for infiltration play – especially since she supplies you with suppressors and ammo and covers you when you are spotted. I would suggest unlocking the Guilty Butterfly (Silenced Tranquilizing Sniper) for optimal infiltration into outposts. With it, she will not set an alert status when she snipes an enemy.
